Downtown Cleveland Guardians Playoffs: A Guide to the Ultimate MLB Experience

If you're an MLB fan, you're in luck! The Cleveland Guardians have advanced in the playoffs, and the whole city is hoping that 2024 is the year they will break their 76-year World Series drought.  Now, the number two seed Cleveland Guardians prepare to take on the Detroit Tigers in the American League Division Series (ALDS).  There's so much to look forward to, from the electrifying games themselves to the vibrant city life in downtown Cleveland. This article serves as your guide to making the most of your Guardians playoffs experience.

Understanding the Guardians Playoffs Schedule

The MLB playoffs follow a precise schedule.  For the ALDS, the champion is the team that wins the best of five games.  At least two of these upcoming games will be held at the Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland.  On Saturday, October 5th, the Game 1 of the ALDS will begin at Progressive Field at 1:08pm.  Game 2 is also in downtown Cleveland on Monday, October 7th at 4:08pm, followed by Games 3 and 4 in Detroit, and a possible Game 5 in Cleveland on October 12th depending on the results.

It's always a thrilling experience to watch the Guardians play in their home ground. Further rounds of the playoffs schedule will be available on the official MLB website and the Cleveland Guardians' website. Make sure to watch the upcoming matchups, check the dates, and start planning your trip.

Planning Your Travel and Accommodation

Downtown Cleveland is well-connected with various modes of transport. You can reach downtown by car, bus, or train from the surrounding suburbs and states.  One of the most convenient options is the rail service provided by the Rapid Transit Authority (RTA) in Cleveland which goes directly to Tower City.  From there, it's just a short walk within a stream of fans on their way to Progressive Field.  Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is also a short drive away from the city center, where the Guardian's home of Progressive Field is located.

Accommodation in downtown Cleveland ranges from luxury hotels to budget-friendly options.  If you are staying at the InterContinental Cleveland on the Cleveland Clinic campus, you can rest assured that you will stay in style and travel to the game with ease.  We are just minutes from downtown and connected directly to Tower City by the RTA's Healthline bus service.  In addition to our premier InterContinental location, the InterContinental Suites Hotel (the only all-suites, wellness focused hotel in the greater Cleveland area) and the fun, family-friendly Holiday Inn Cleveland Clinic are located minutes from downtown and easily accessible via public transportation.  You can see the concierge at any of our three properties for more assistance with scheduling and maps, or alternative transportation options.
